It's been a long time since I've made an entry about my weight loss program and for good reason.

It has more or less been non-existent!

After having lost over 45 pounds last year before July, I have gained every bit of it back and then some. I moved from Fort Myers to Palm Beach Gardens and let the change totally ruin the routine that I had started on the West coast. (of Florida)

I stepped on the scales this morning and tipped them (more like almost broke them) at 347.8 lbs. Man am I a heffer! Well, the buck stops here. It's time to put on my game face and stop being such a pussy about this. (pardon the rough language)

I went to the local gym today and spoke with a personal trainer. He confirmed what I already knew and told me that the reason I can't keep the weight off is because I am not building any muscle. The bike riding, sit ups, and good eating are great ways to get rid of the poundage but muscle will keep it off.

The bottom line is that muscle burns fat. The more muscle you have, the more easily your body burns off the fat you ingest. I have resisted weight training before because I use to do a lot of it when I was younger and it always made me ravenously hungry.

Anyway, I joined the gym. I can't afford a personal trainer but I am no stranger to weight training. It's just been a long long time since I have done it. Starting tomorrow, I'm hitting the weights again. It will take a month or so for the results to show, but I am really serious about it this time.

No more playing around!
