The last few days, my weight loss had stalled. When I used to lift weights, we would say that you reached a plateau. I would always see what my max weight was in lets say the bench press, for example, a couple times a week. If you were working on a consistent basis, you could normally add a few pounds every time you tried. Sometimes you would reach a level where you wouldn't be able to do anymore for a couple weeks.
This is what we called a plateau, but it was no big deal. You just kept working out and eventually you would have a break through. Well, the last few days I had reached a plateau. I actually gained a litlle Monday and the last two days have been hanging around 334 lbs. Well things changed this morning.
Official weight: 332.6 lbs. That's 4.4 lbs for the month (13 days) and 17.4 lbs for the year. Slow and sure, that's the way to take it off and keep it off. You here people talk about these crash diets where you can lose 10 lbs in a week. You may lose the weight but the truth of the matter is that you can lose 10 lbs in a week simply by dehydrating yourself. Your body is 90% water and water is heavy. Manipulating your weight by 10 pounds is not a difficult trick. You have not changed your waistline of actually removed any fat from your body.
If you follow what I am doing, you may not get any spectacular results in a week, but you will acheive true weight loss. You will not gain the 10 pounds you lost last month by drinking 2 gallons of water. That is why it is important to drink lots of water, so that you know that you are fully hydrated. When you see a loss on the scales, you know that it is actual weight and not just water loss.
Weight Loss Secret Tip of the Day: If you don't drink any sodas or alcoholic beverages, you will naturally drink more water. The best way to lose weight is to drink nothing but water. (bodyweight divided by 2 = number of ounces you should drink per day)
The past few days have been very similar (I apologise for not posting) as far as exercise and food intake. Cereal for breakfast, fruit for a mid morning snack, meal supplement for lunch, carrots or more friuit for mid afternoon snack, and a normal dinner with small portions. I almost always have popcorn in the evening.
My stomach muscles are really starting to get into shape. I can do 150 crunches without stopping and have upped my routine to 300 a day. I try to do 2 miles on the bike or walk 2 miles everyday after dinner but am only acheiving an average of about every other day. To many things to do and not enough time. I am going to make an effort to make time and see if I can speed up my results.

I had a little set back yesterday. When I stepped on the scales I had actually gained a little weight. Well this morning that little bit was gone and then some.
The official weigh in results are: 334.2 lbs. That's 1.8lbs in one day, 2.8 lbs for the month, and 15.8 lbs for the year. I am almost back on track for the year. I need to be at 326 by the end of March. That's less than 3 pounds per week for the remaining 3 weeks. I think that's doable!
So despite my falling off the wagon in February, I have rallied back and am on track again for the year. My daughters birthday cake and my Mother sent us a huge box with about 4 dozen cookies in it for Valentines day. I am talking about sugar cookies with icing. Like you make at Christmas but cut into hearts. I can keep from buying things like that but when they are in front of my I have a very hard time exercising self control.
Yesterday I had a bowl of Special K with 2% milk and a peice of toast with margerine and honey. I did my 100 crunches, made my blog post and off to work. I drank my meal supplement for lunch and as always had two snacks during the day. The mid morning snack was an apple and the midafternoon snack was a pack of peanut butter crackers. I also drank 3 liters of water. I recommend getting a bottle of some sorts like an old gatorade bottle and keep it full of water during the day. I can't keep stressing the importance of drinking a gallon of water everyday enough.
For dinner I had two bratwurst on hotdog buns and a fruit smoothie. We buy these big bags of pre-cut, mixed frozen fruit at Sam's. I take the frozen fruit with little water and 2 teaspoons of Splenda and make a smoothie in the blender. It's awesome! After dinner I did 2 miles on the bicycle and another 100 crunches while watching TV. We also had some popcorn.
